Open question to anyone or rhetorical - would you trust the Governing Body of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society more or less if they were a specific colour? Or covered a specific range of colour? -

A German lady suffered at the hands of Germans. The Germans had killed her German family members. She couldn't stand Germans.
She wasn't racist. She was eugenophobic and had good reason to be.

Breaking: Beards in The Watchtower
by neat blue dog inthe latest issue of the watchtower shows a man with a beard praying.. .
i fully expected to see him 'progress' to clean-shaven in the following pictures, but instead he is still bearded when 'applying bible principles'.. .
i then realized that he was already featured on the cover itself.. .

And the woman wears a head covering. In paradise.
Not that it means that much. They used to have a lion in paradise with a beach ball on its paws. Where was it going to get the beach ball from?

How many of you would actually believe a child abuser would let his crime be watched by minimum two witnesses?
by Thinkforyourself inin many closed religious cults, sects or globally widely spread religions, sexual abuse on big scale is revealed and covered up by the religious authorities.
in the jw, the culture is to deal with these matters within the org itself, and the rule is, "no crime can be proven without the presentation of at least two witnesses".
men made the rules, men commit these crimes and men defend them and even forse these children to meet and talk to their abusers.

Haven't read the whole thread through, so sorry if someone else has said this but WT culture from my experience is all about getting people so dizzy with GB mind-rot/conscience-rot that bad things can happen right in front of someone but they are too afraid to speak out in case they are viewed as apostates. Apostates not to God, who would disapprove their horrid actions, but to a bunch of liars.
Imagine WT being the petri dish of a social experiment. The question is how do you spin WT version of political correctness so that really bad stuff is done right under the noses of so-called 'Jehovah's Witnesses' and the congregation members say nothing.
What I mean is something like 'gaslighting.'
VERBgaslighting (present participle)- manipulate (someone) by psychological means into doubting their own sanity.

When I explained what had happened to me at the hand of the Watchtower to a Quaker who is somewhat involved in politics, he immediately said, "they act like the Labour party." (Left Wing in UK).
I wasn't aware of that. But I was aware of Fabianism which is associated with Left Wing politics and also people like H G Wells who wrote not only The Invisible Man but also God the Invisible King.
When I started studying, I was very suprised to see Watchtower literature quote H G Wells as some kind of authority because in academic circles I had never heard his named mentioned. He was just a novelist.

What if a dog got badly injured by another dog. A man doesn't have his dog under control and couldn't care less that the other dog was badly injured.
Now, there is a vicious dog in a public area, whose owner is not controlling it. Say the other owner goes and reports it to the police but describes the other one as a 'gypsie'.
That would be a big no, no using the identity of 'gypsie'.
But the one reporting it is not using hate speach, any more than if she calls the person Spanish or Romanian. She is just trying to give information about identity in the only way she knows how.
Language used in relation to identity is sensitive.
Now, say someone writes a sign that says, 'Gypsies Lives Matter' because the man with the uncontrolled dog felt persecuted by the police. It would be undermining the authorities and acting in opposition to public safety.
Because gypsies lives mattered the woman reported the dog to the police. It was even to protect the children of those she called 'gypsies' and everyone in that area.
By not stirring up trouble and acting to protect others - would this this woman's story get into the press? Because she used the words 'gypsie' innocently would it mean that the police were now too scared to intervene in case it stirred up social unrest if the journalists got hold of the story?
How would you do the statistics to find out how many people suffered because they were not allowed to report things like this and therefore danger had persisted when it was not necessary. Where would the records be held, if it were even possible to keep such records?

Oh I never thought of the convicted felon bit. Yes he did struggle to find employment - it was very hard for him. Not only that but he was not in his homeland and had to learn another language to get work.
Poor man. From what I saw, he was a very fine person who must have endured a terrible mental breakdown.
I was one of the last people he spoke to before he left the country. He was desperate to warn me - the alarm in his voice was very great.
What he didn't know was that I had already witnessed some of the things done to him and felt for him. One elder was particularly harsh towards him. That same elder, about 15 years later took the lead in chucking me out last year. I didn't mind because I knew their game by then and didn't view them as Christians, elders, Jehovah's Witnesses or anything like. Just misguided, bitter men who were keen to bully people who wouldn't follow them in their foolish ways.
Incidentally that elder who took the lead in throwing me out was noted for getting on the platform and talking about intimate matters in a way that made the congregation feel very uncomfortable. At least one other elder tried to stop him doing this. But it was to no avail.

Too many details could identify him. But I can tell you this, he was not the only one who had his life destroyed like this. And the same set of elders were involved (plus some others). The elders appeared to be a clique, which these two were not part of.
Being a clique, they protected those they had a soft spot for (not necessarily other old boys).
I have no evidence for this but on occasion I have wondered whether elders like sitting on judicials and hearing grubby details. Those in the know tell the one who has done wrong how to say sorry and get off the hook. Then the elders let that one off the hook and rub their hands waiting for more grubby things to happen so they get to listen to another installment.
